About our Kiwanis club

Kiwanis Name

The name Kiwanis means “we trade” or “we share our talents.” It was coined from an American Indian expression Nunc-Kee-Wanis.

Kiwanis International

Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis International was founded in 1915 by a group of volunteers joining together to form a fellowship. A higher purpose soon emerged as the group evolved into a passionate service club helping children and young adults.
Today, with its world headquarters in Indianapolis, IN; the organization is a thriving body of service-minded individuals of all ages.

Membership Info

Prospective members are invited to join us for a breakfast meeting to gain an understanding of Kiwanis and our club. Once a membership application is received, the board of directors must review and approve the membership. Annual dues are $185.00 per member. Our Kiwanis club meets weekly as listed below. Members, on average, invest about six hours per month through participation in meetings, projects, and volunteer work in the community.

Through your Kiwanis membership, communities are improved, friendships are made, leadership skills are developed, and networks are built. More importantly, the lives of children around the world are changed. Members also receive KIWANIS Magazine ten times per year, enjoy access to an online community, as well as discounts on products and services.
